Experience

Work across systems and interfaces.

  1. Aug 2023 — Present

    Self-employed engineer and researcher

    Doering Thinking Machines

A self-directed research and engineering program exploring general artificial systems that coordinate diverse language-model ensembles with symbolic techniques.

    • Completed an extensive cognitive-science literature review spanning Kant, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Minsky, and related traditions, then synthesized it into an architectonic system blueprint.
    • Built a long-running full-stack artificial system in Python and TypeScript around structured agent workflows, persistent knowledge, and human verification gates.
    • Built a retrieval framework with Gemma embeddings and PostgreSQL/pgvector over parsed Wikitext, technical documents, academic papers, and system artifacts.
    • Normalized a large personal software fleet around common repository templates, task records, tests, documentation, CI, release stages, and adversarial review.
  2. Feb 2022 — Jun 2023

    Software Engineer

    Google

Modernized Google's AdSense product, focusing on JavaScript tag logic and new advertising formats across the stack.

    • Developed C++ and TypeScript features end to end inside complex, performance-sensitive deployment systems.
    • Ran and analyzed A/B tests across billions of queries with custom Python notebooks and large proprietary tools.
    • Investigated advanced JavaScript behavior for scripts operating across more than two million browser environments.
  3. Jun 2019 — Jul 2021

    Software Engineer

    Space Ground System Solutions

Helped move a widely used satellite command-and-control system from a desktop Qt application to a React/Redux web interface backed by Java, C++, and data-intensive partner APIs.

    • Implemented roughly twelve significant full-stack features, including data visualization and geospatial satellite line-of-sight work.
    • Led a team of six engineers during a planned three-month manager leave, clearing blockers and coordinating stakeholders and Agile ceremonies.
    • Introduced Jest unit testing to an existing, lightly tested codebase after coordinating regular functional testing.
    • Worked with satellite data and protocols from NASA, the Department of Defense, and private space organizations.
  4. May 2018 — Aug 2018

    Automation Tools Intern

    Fujitsu Network Communications

Built a Java/Spring MVC and JavaScript application that formalized a project-management procedure, accelerated the workflow, and captured data for executive analysis.
